In early 2011, I was still dating my now ex and still best friends with Michael. He had called me and asked if we could hang out so we could catch up. I told him he could meet me at the mall after I was done with my shift and he agreed. I was excited. Of course I wouldnt cheat on my ex, but catching up with my best friend would be great. I waited 2 hours that day and he never showed. I called him and he said he had overslept since he had partied a little too hard the night before. I understood that but I told him we had to reschedule. He called me that night but his tone of voice was different. He told me he could never hang out with me. My mouth dropped and I asked why? "You have a boyfriend. I like you too much to just hang out with you and not get the urge to hug or kiss you. As long as you have a boyfriend, we can't ever hang out." Once again, I was devastated but I understood him and accepted it. I continued to date my now ex and Michael was obviously upset because he knew how bad I was treated but he always answered my phone calls when I called him crying. A few days later, he called me and told me that we could no longer be friends or talk at all, for that matter. "Why? First, you tell me we cant hang out and now you wont even talk to me? Why?" "Ady, I have strong feelings for you that have never gone away. Since you have a boyfriend and you obviously wont ever leave him, I dont want these feelings anymore. When I get over you, I'll let you know and we can hopefully talk and be friends again." What!? He had strong feelings for me?! NO! He couldn't stop talking to me. I needed him but that was selfish. If he needed to do that, I couldnt stop him. He was right. Deep down, I wanted him to have feelings for me. My feelings for him were still there deep down but they had been put to rest when I started dating my ex. I cried. Two long months went by and one day, I saw a message from him. I was just as a excited as a little kid on Christmas morning. We talked like friends and everything seemed great. I was a little upset because since he was talking to me again, that meant he had gotten over me. Oh well. At least I had my friend back. I had the nerve to ask him if we could hang out now. Once again, his answer was no. "Why?" " Ady, I tried so hard to get over you and forget about you and I couldnt. I
couldnt get you off my mind. I tried dating other girls and it just wasn't enough. I dont know if I will ever get over you but until then, we cant ever hang out." A part of me cheered because he still had feelings for me but at the same time, I felt bad. As 2011 went on, problems with my ex got worse and worse. I tried breaking up with him a few times but he always managed to reel me back in with flowers and sweet empty words. I always fell for it. Finally at the end of November, I decided enough was enough. How could I waste my time with someone who didnt appreciate nor respect me. I was going to end it. Early December, my now ex gave me one last reason to break up with him and boy was it big. I would break up with him no matter. Enough was enough. I told Michael that I would be breaking up with the boyfriend the next weekend and thats when he said something I will never forget. "Ady, I really hope you can actually break up with your boyfriend this time. He hurts you too much. You arent even happy. He doesnt deserve you. Open your eyes. Dont do it for me or anyone else, do it for yourself. You are an amazing girl and any guy would be lucky to have you. I have been in love with you since we met. You have no idea how much my heart would break every time you called me crying. All I ever wanted to do was hug and kiss you and tell you everything would be okay. I have always loved you and I dont think I will ever stop loving you." I looked back at previous messages and I realized I was so stupid. He was constantly dropping hints from the beginning but I was too blind to see. He always liked me as much as I liked him. That weekend, I broke up with my boyfriend and I didnt even shed a tear. I don't think I had been that happy in a while. I felt free. I could breathe again. For that brief moment, I even forgot about Michael. I had broken the chains I felt eternally bound to. I was free and happy. I could be me again. 3 days later, I told Michael I had always been in love with him as well. My feelings for him were always there. He asked me out that day, Dec 21, 2011. I had to say yes and I did. Even though it had been only 3 days since breaking up with my now ex, he was already completely forgotten. We kept our relationship private for the first couple months . I would go through all of that crap again just so I could end up with my husband again. Dating my now husband was the best decision I have ever made. Now it's 2014 and we will be celebrating our first wedding anniversary as well as our beautiful daughter's first birthday. She has her own story of course.

HIMMH: Part Two
After our first date, I was ecstatic. I had the biggest crush on Michael and it seemed like he liked me as well. I secretly hoped he would ask me to be his girlfriend. A week went by and I didn't really hear from him. He'd say hi if he was walking to his friends house and I was outside. But he never called me like he said he would. I was devastated. To my surprise, his best friend and his mom came over to borrow some chairs for a party. He asked how our date was and I said it was great. He asked if we were going to go out again. I didn't know. Then he tells me, " I don't want to seem like a jerk but I think you shouldn't go out with him again." I asked why. He said, " he is a lion and you are a sheep. All he wants is meat and when he gets it, he'll leave." That honestly broke my heart. Being a dumb and immature 16 year old, I believed him because his best friend wouldn't lie right? Michael was a great looking guy who was constantly chased by girls. Of course he didnt really like me? I wasn't as good looking as the girls who were constantly trying to get with him.2 weeks went by and Michael still hadnt called me back. I cried and just accepted the fact he didn't really like me at all. His best friend ended up asking me out and I said yes because I thought that would be the only way to get over him. We only dated for 2 weeks. He cheated on me and left me. I didnt really care because I never liked him anyways. We had only hung out once anyways. Michael did eventually call me but we were distant. He was upset over the fact I "dated" his bff and I was upset because I was head over heels for him, but he didnt know that. We stopped talking for a while but would randomly say hi to each other. I was a heartbroken. He graduated from high school in 2009 and decided to move back to Texas after that. I found out and my heart broke into a million pieces. He messaged me saying goodbye and that was it. We got closer again while he lived in Texas and we even became best friends. I was happy that we were talking again and that was good enough for me. I was still head over heels for him or you could say "in love." At the end of 2009, I met my ex and in May, he asked me out and I said yes. I knew I never had a chance with Michael. Why would he like a girl like me? A month after getting with my now ex, Michael surprised everyone and moved back. I was so happy my best friend was moving back. I had missed him. I missed seeing him across the street everyday and knowing he was always there. He actually stopped by to talk for a bit. I melted once again but I had a boyfriend now so I had to put those feelings away. My relationship with my ex was a horrible one. Let's just say I was constantly upset and always crying. Somehow, I always ended up calling Michael, crying me eyes out telling him how horrible I was feeling. He constantly told me I didnt deserve to be treated that way. He would say that if I was his girlfriend, I would never be treated so bad. He would always calm me down. Somehow I still stayed with my ex even though he disrespected me and made me feel worthless. . .
How I Met My Husband. Part One.
I'll keep it short since a lot of the tiny details don't really mean much so here it goes. We met in 2008 after his best friend moved in across the street. He waved hello from across the street one day and I waved back but quickly looked away. Somehow we found each other on myspace and began talking there. We got to know each other and got along pretty well. A month or so later, Michael and some of his friends were getting ready to walk down to the park and asked if I would like to come along. I said yes and joined them. I remember being at the park and sitting on the swing set with Michael by my side. I was listening to my ipod when the Aladdin song came on. I knew that was one of his favorites, so I told him to listen to it. We ended up singing it together while swinging. Lets just say that I fell in love with the fact that was an amazing singer! That is where my little crush on him began. Anyways, we went to the park a few more times those next few weeks and became really great friends. He was such a great guy, funny, amazing singer, athletic, and not to mention good looking ;) He ended up asking me on a date to see a movie at the mall. Since I was still 16 and overly protected by my parents, my mom drove us. I still remember what we both wore that day. I actually still have the shirt I wore on that date. I think I'll keep it forever. Anyways, my mom dropped us off at the mall and we made our way to the theater. I remember he held my hand as we walked through the mall and I felt like I was melting while butterflies attacked my insides. We got into our seats for The Hangover and I was still a little nervous. Being the clumsy and weird person I am, I managed to embarrass myself during the movie. We were randomly talking and he looks at me and touches my nose in a cute way. I tried doing the same thing and accidentally poked his nose. I thought I was going to die. I wanted the earth to open up and swallow me. I apologized endlessly but he just laughed it off and said it was okay. After the movie, we walked around the mall and ended up going to Kohls to catch the elevator. Let's just say he kissed me while in that elevator and I ended up loving that elevator because of it. I'm weird, I know. While we waited for my mom to pick us up, we sat on a couch and just listened to music on my ipod. We had to sit pretty close in order to share the headphones and I felt like I was on fire. Once we were in the car, my mom took us to get some ice cream. We eventually made it to my house and decided to walk to the park to finish off the wonderful date. We just sat and talked and eventually played on the jungle gym set as well. Everything had gone great and I realized that I had the biggest crush ever. He was amazing. He kissed me on the cheek before leaving the park and we started walking back home. What an amazing day. I didn't want it to ever end. . .
